Within the trailer setup on the Sync 4 screen, once you select brake type there is a setting called trailer brake effort. The options are Low, Medium and High. What is the purpose of these settings and what setting should you use.? The default setting is low. I am assuming these settings are weight dependent. For a 6000 lb trailer pulled by a F150 Powerboost 4x4 Super Crew, what should it be set at?

How does this setting interact with the gain settings?

Thanks!

i use the gain settings on the controller itself.
the setting on screen are a BASE line once you plug in the logged in trailer, which is handy if you have several trailers listed in the que.

i always test brake drag when i pull away and then g from there if they are to loose or to tight in drag feel. if it helps

I second what @powerboatr says--it's unlikely that two trailer brake setups are going to be exactly the same, even on the same model trailer, so they provide some flexibility for you to adjust those settings. It's probably best to test out how reactive you want the trailer brakes to be by heading out to an empty parking lot and testing out different settings. Even better if you can test it with the trailer brakes only (e.g., no foot pedal, just by squeezing the brakes on the trailer brake controller on the dash) to dial in the proper gain setting.
