Status Report:
OK, so when changing this valu, in addition to key off/on cycle AND APIM reboot (FORScan), I found that I had to wait for complete power down (rear USB courtesy lights off) before I could key on and be assured that a change would stick ?; otherwise it looked like the change made had no effect. In this case the culprit was SDARS (Satellite Radio aka SiriusXM):
7D0-01-01 xxxx x8xx xx--, which is "SDARS Radio Present (SDARSRP)". US APIMs have 8, Aussie APIMs have it at 0. I thought I'd be smart and disable SDARS like the Aussies?. For everyone's benefit, if you have a US APIM, do not set this to "SDARSRP Non-SDARS Radio or Disabled" or you'll lose GPS ?
If you want to, you can leave SDARS enabled and just remove the SiriusXM tile from the "Sources" screen as I've now done.
i will operate the truck without further changes for a couple of weeks and report any aberrant behaviour or confirmation of normal operation. ?
