Like many others my 1/6 order and 3/19 build is going no where fast. I have no interest in reordering a 2021 clone, like many others have. I might give it another month or two, but I think after that I might just cancel my order, unless some unrealistic offer comes my way.
My wife and I just got a Mach-e last month and I really like that thing. It is a lot of fun! One selling point of the PB was its acceleration. The Lighting is almost 2 seconds faster 0-60. I have always wanted a pickup and really love my wife's Mach-E. I am not a huge fan of the uni light brow, though the massive frunk seems cool. While I would really like the 700 mile range of the PB, the fact I can charge at home is awesome. I like having a truck for hauling things and towing my boat. Though I don't tow out of my region and a boat doesn't have as much drag as other trailers. Also about 5 hours is the limits of my interest in driving, before I board a plane.
While it might look like my mind is made, I would be perfectly happy taking delivery of my original PB in the next couple of months. If it is longer than that, I will feel to spiteful to take delivery of a 2021 so close to 2022 and after waiting 8+ months. I am not interested in EVs to save the world. I just like their acceleration, how they handle, and how less complex they are. I am curiois if there is any cons I might be overlooking by going the Lighting route.
