Digital HVAC Controller Compatibility Issues

Hey Guys,

I have a new 2021 controller, part #ML3Z-19980-K. I’m planning on installing it, along with my new clock spring next week to get heated steering back.

I’m hearing there’s issues getting us programmed to work right, so some are getting the ‘22/‘23 non digital controller with the heated steering button.

Any help is appreciated in case I need to hunt down a new HVAC controller.

i installed the same unit ML3Z-19980-K into my 22’ Raptor. Everything functions as normal for me. Just need to restore your as built in Forscan to program. Probably need to enable the HSW in Forscan. Here‘s before and after.

Thanks for the info! I’m hearing the ‘23 are the main issue, which is requiring the non digital hvac control, or FDRS to update firmware

I swapped mine, transfered the as built codes in forscan. Everything works as before. But there is a dtc for “not programmed” but I heard that is normal.

recently I got a damper failure, someone said I need FDRS to run a damper calibration (end points) with the new controls

can someone confirm?
