99% of the shortcomings of Ford are directly or indirectly related to it being a monster of bureaucracy and inefficiency.

One post on this forum resulting in an employee chasing down a potential inadvertent Bluecruise activation? ?

Not even possible, I suspect.

Wait does your BC not work at all when you tow ? Mine gives me the option to go into BC when I have a medium trailer attached but obv the blind spot alert says it’s turned off with the trailer connected
Sorry for the late response but I only towed my trailer last week. It was a little odd as there were warnings about BLIS not activated but I think that was with Cross Traffic. I say that for 2 reasons, BLIS appears to still work, the mirrors light up when there is a car beside the trailer and Ford's site says the BLIS has trailer support.

You need to set the trailer profile up and measure the length then makes sure its the active profile when towing. Then it should be happy and work like it should, unless you have a large enclosed trailer/camper and the tail light bliss sensors can't see around the trailer.

I have a 22 Lariat and am still on BC 1.0. Is that normal? I do receive OTA updates, but I have never received one for BC. If I do get an update soon, will it go from 1.0 to 1.2, or straight to whatever is current?

Straight to 1.4. A 2022 Mach E reported getting it today, so it may be coming to outer model years here soon, too.

You should be fine to leave it on. I broke mine with a fairly new FDRS update. Some have been fine with it. Some have made minor changes to fix it. My case is still a mystery
I think I did the same. Mine won’t even check anymore. It just says no updates available.

I'm convinced that Ford will send the 1.4 update close to the end of the 3-year complimentary period that came with my truck. If it does arrive, I'm not inclined to subscribe afterward.

Are you saying that it's strategic?

That Ford purposely delays upgrading Bluecruise based on a vehicles current subscription?

It seems odd that Ford would believe the best way to convince someone to purchase a product would be to irritate them, or deny them a taste of the best version possible.

It’s more likely that they will offer you another free year at the end of your 3. I am exactly one month away from my three years being up and was just offered another free year so I am speaking from experience.

That’s encouraging. Hope to see it offered!

Ford offered me one free year at the end of my initial three year subscription as well.

I agree, it is odd. But then again, Ford doesn’t always follow the rule of logic. I think Ford has done a great job of unintentionally convincing owners like me to be skeptical about the promise of great improvement. Ford has mismanaged their OTA software updates so unbelievably that I’m left with little to think positive on about a feature update. However, there is a small part of me that remains hopeful and I am ready to be proved wrong when I get to experience version 1.4.

A 2021 F150 could have had upwards of 75 software updates at this point. Obviously OTA delivery might not have gone smoothly, but Ford has in fact delivered on their intentions of continuously improving upon a vehicle that was purchased multiple years prior.

Those that pony up for FDRS and take the time-frame of delivery into their own hands, probably have a different view of Ford's efforts to continuously develop and refine the vehicle. Bluecruise 1.4 has been available for a year, at this point.

I have no problem admitting the shortcomings of Ford's OTA system. They obviously overestimated their initial FNV architecture prowess. But I am personally impressed with the progress they have made at this point.

What I am disappointed with is Ford's bureaucracy, their quality control, and what seems to be a stall in their boldness to innovate. This is the 5th year of production for the Powerboost. And it's still V1

My 3 year BC sub expired mid December and they just gave me another free year. No updates for my 2021 PB is on 1.0 BC and haven't received any updates in 7 months. I got the mongoose cable last month and going to update my truck this coming week. Tired of waiting on FORD to roll out BC. Hell, I can't even get regular OTAs for my truck.
