I am looking to upgrade my front suspension. I have Bilstein 5100s in the rear but looking to add them to to the front

should I go with the 5100s and new springs but which springs? Or the 6112 with spring and shock all included

the truck has about 72k miles on it and the ride is getting a bit squishy in the front. After I added the rear shocks and rear sway bar the front end is too loose imo

to clarify I have a 21 PB XLT not sure if that changes anything

appreciate all the info given ??

I went with the 6112. Ordered then complete assembly. Was like 100 bucks more complete. You will save way more than that on the install.

I put 5100 all around my 2024 Stx, the rides “stiff” but much more firm. I personally like it. Huge difference once the front was installed in the oem spring. I’m a technician so the install I did myself and best few hundred bucks I spend. 6112 I drove on my friends 2023, they’re little better in the absorption but I think it’s mostly from the spring, 6112 are nice but I’ll put those dollars else where.

The powerboost is heavier in the front. You will lose roughly.5 inch from any advertised lift. If you’re just changing the shock I would just reuse the spring. If you want to lift you will have to adjust the coil (6112 setup)

this will really come down to 2 things

1) don’t want a higher performing shock (6112) that for lost provides a better overall ride compared to the 5100s

2) do you also want to save some $$ in long run by having the 6112s assembled at your clip/height setting rather then having to remove your stock, take them apart, then assembled the 5100s and then reinstall. Of course that all varies on if you’re installing and assembling yourself or not.

Both are great options overall. But we sell 6112s arguably 10:1 compared to 5100s on these trucks. Either set up you go with you will see about a 1/2” less lift compared to non PB models. But we do offer assembly on kits and are always happy to help if you have questions. We even offer custom painted front springs if interested!

Unfortunately the 5100s that we had just recently sold out. So we are waiting for our next restock along with the 6112s. ETA is about the same which is mid to late October according to Bilstein. If you just need them shipped and not assembled then we would just pay to drop ship them to you to help get them to you quicker rather then having them ship to us and then back out to you.

We are taking orders still and putting folks down that order on a fulfill list that way those that have purchased have their orders fulfilled in the order they were received.

I put 6112's and 5160's on my 2021 and the ride and control was so worth it. I would recommend anyone who want a more stable ride over the OEM, soft, squishy suspension to do it.
