By design, the clips do not run entirely to the front. If you lift the rubber flap up and look in, you will see the clamped down piece and one hinged piece do not lock. There is a small hole into the bed there. If wind lifts up that flap, it can get in, under the cover. Whether it enters through that small hole, or gets under the rubber flap, I don't know. I do know that when it happens, it happens fast and ruins the trip because it could not be repaired. It bent both rails and the tailgate end of the cover along with breaking many plastic pieces.
