I have a ‘23 PB and my left rear backup sensor is acting up. Once I put it in reverse it will occasionally start beeping and shows something behind the truck. There’s nothing there. The dealer said maybe it’s condensation but it happens at different times of the day and I’m in Florida so the heat would have evaporated any moisture. After spending overnight at the dealer they have been unable to duplicate it.

Anyone else ever have this issue?

Good morning. Would you please send over a private message with your VIN and dealer info so I can look into this sensor concern on my end?

Yes! Happens with my truck too. I have six sensors on each bumper and park assist delete. My outter-most back up sensors would detect objects that are not there when in reverse and would constantly beep. Dealer fixed by installing and programming a new IPMA module, now it only does it when it's very hot outside (97°F+) and I shift into reverse, but goes away after moving a bit. I started a thread below documenting it.

What it does now when its hot out:

I've had this a couple times over 1.5 years. I wiped off the sensor. Another time it did it, I wiped the sensor and it didn't help. I then tapped with my hand on the bumper around the sensor a few times and it cleared the warning.

One time when it happened it was pulsing in and out which is why I suspected a short. I’ll try tapping it and see.

We had a very hot 98°F day in Houston, TX and my rear left corner sensor started going crazy everytime I shift into reverse. Had anyone found a fix for this? I wish I could disable the 4 outer corner sensors completely since I find them useless because my truck came with park assist 2.0 delete. The constant beeping when shifting into reverse is very annoying.

My dealer has agreed to replace the sensor. So we’ll see if that fixes it.

Did you end up getting this fixed?

We had another hot 97°F + day today in Houston, TX and my left rear backup sensor starting malfunctioning again.

I did. It took 2 days since the new sensor had to be painted. So far so good.

Was your issue only when it was very hot outside? Or only after heavy rains/car wash? Or just totally random?

Not really sure. I live in Florida so we have the heat but it wasn’t consistent. Random times and places. My driveway, parking lot etc. but I will say it hasn’t happened since the sensor was replaced.
