Hello
we have a 2021 Platinum EcoBoost with the 2kw onboard power. Ordered it and got it just before things got crazy with shortages.
We love the truck which now has about 50K miles on it but we have had ongoing issues with the truck thinking it has a low battery. Auto Stop start stops working (not a big deal), inside lights will not come on, remote start from the app will fail all because it thinks the battery is low but it starts just like normal. I have thrown a volt meter on it when the message is on and it is what I would call normal.
Our dealer has tried seemingly everything including multiple new batteries. Spoke with Ford Customer Care and while they had us on the phone they reviewed the work by our dealer and basically said we could go for a buy back or try a different dealer. Our confidence is high with our dealer as I am personal friends with their head mechanic and know he has thrown the kitchen sink at this thing.
Seems like trying to search threads that although most seem like they have the Powerboost, the main theme I have seen is get away from the OEM Ford batteries. Maybe even go AGM”
We do have some other weird things happen, mostly with a really lout pop on the stereo. We also have on several occasions had an issue with the head light system and they get stuck in the full down position making visibility really bad at night. In both cases, a full cycle on the ignition brings things back to normal.
On the buy back, my guess is that we would pay dearly because of the 50k miles but also, ours has massage seats and two tone interior leather that looks like went away with the new ones.
