I've been looking for a spoiler that mimics the one from the Saleen F-150 (not the fiberglass one they sell now). I wasn't thrilled with the Air Designs design....looked like a stretched factory tailgate cap, not much angle / flip to it, and only attached with double sided tape. I posted previously about another one that seemed to be a copy of the Saleen spoiler, but the final rendition also used double sided tape.
About a month ago, @Scrambler68 posted a pic of his and I was in LOVE and had to have it !!! Enter the Anderson Composites tailgate spoiler via Terry @beefcake Racing --- Carbon fiber, attaches with 8 nuts and bolts (all hidden) and 4 push clips, and is a very close resemblance to the Saleen version with enough flip to it, but not like a NASCAR truck rear spoiler. Exactly what I was looking for !!! Fit and finish are top notch as were the packing/shipping. IMHO, this is the best looking and highest quality tailgate spoiler for our trucks, hands down !!
Scrambler68 was right when he said "It ain't cheap, but dang it looks good".
It sits about 2.5" above the bed cover.
Install was pretty straight forward, even though no instructions were included. Removing the factory tailgate cap was the hardest part. Used a pair of needle nose pliers to compress the plastic retention pieces and managed to not break any. Placed the spoiler on the tailgate and it just slipped into place, no holes to drill, but I did need to open the 4 holes on the inner lip of the spoiler so the plastic push retainer things would fit. Lost a little skin and blood putting the washer, lock washer and nuts on, so if you have big paws like me, find a friend with little hands. The 4 push pin retainers under the inner tailgate panel are removed by pushing in the little center button.
Also, HP and TQ gains are pretty impressive....
