Pros and cons owners have.

Does one offer better SQ?

Toslink to Blackbird DSP.

I've used both, and there is absolutely no way I could ever say I heard any differences. I tuned mine with the miniDSP in both installs, and they both sounded great.

Thanks for your perspective.
I've read some people feel Mobridge or NavTv are better granted, most are dealers.

I think the moBridge may have a slight edge on handling the phone system... if I'm remembering correctly. I guess if I end up doing another system, I'll likely go with the moBridge.

According to Sounds Good Stereo they recommend the Zen A2B over the PAC unit if using TOSLINK. They told me the PAC unit has a high noise floor using optical.

I didn't have any noise with my Pac. It was a great unit. I did recently switch to Zen as I a came across a used one. The only differences I noticed are the chime tones are different and the output of the zen is louder, which is probably just settings. I was using Toslink on both.

I don't have any noise from my AmpPro. Wondering if the Mobridge provides better sound quality being the PAC feels cheap.

I wouldn't base anything off of that. Even the Zen feels kinda cheap.

Thanks good to know.
Do you feel the boost in output for your system is great enough to pay more for the Mobridge/Nav TV?

Now when I say output, I am using a Helix DSP and Mosconi amps in direct dsp mode using no amp gains. The gains are controlled through the DSP. I was boosting the output in the DSP around 4db with the PAC. With the Zen it is back down to 0db boost. So your setup you may not even notice anything. I would say this. If I had to buy one all over again I would go Pac and save the 3 or 4 hundred difference for sound deadening or something.

I noticed the same thing on my PAC unit installed in my GT500. The optical signal is very low and I had to boost gain in my DSP just to get good output. It’s still pretty low and turning my Sync to highest volume it’s still not “too loud” to handle.

I had no noise issues with my PAC either. I had to increase its volume/output using its remote to get the proper output.
