Hey folks, just posting some initial impressions on the lomax tonneau cover. Packing was well thought out, shipping was fast. They are made to order, it shipped right before the 2-week mark. Arrived via FedEx in 2 days.

Instructions are crystal clear and I can't really imagine an easier install. This core design has been around a while, they've had time to dial it in and it shows. It doesn't have some of the bells and whistles of some others but I appreciate how robust and simple it is.

Here are a few shots and a quick video.

I am impressed with their precision and overall machining. Have a look at how nicely these rails lay. This was first shoot too, no trying to figure out how or why things are out of square or not level.

Lastly a quick video:

Just a quick update now that I've had it for a handful of months.

With baseball, basketball, soccer and random load-ups of bicycles there isn't a week that has gone by that this cover hasn't been rolled entirely up and back out at least a few times. None of the hardware shows any visible wear, the powder coat finish on the cover itself still looks flawless.

We are pinned down now that Helene is in our area (albeit mild compared to FL/GA/etc.) but I still needed to run a few errands, the rain has been steady going on 24 hours straight and my truck has been outside, we've got chicks in a brooder in the garage where I normally park. After getting a thorough beating of rain I flipped it up to see if any water intruded. Not a drop, it's almost unbelievable. I took a shot and the drips you see are from me standing there fiddling with my phone while its raining. It was bone dry when I first opened it. I've driven in this deluge around 3 hours and its sat outside the rest of the time and nothing.

Couldn't be happier with it, such a beast of a top. I know I know, my bed is filthy. Just getting it properly seasoned & scuffed before Line-X : o ).

I have the same one and love it. I love the fact I can completely remove it in seconds with no tools. When I wash my truck, I like to stand in the bed to wash the top. I just pull the cord and lay it in the bed. If I need to haul something large like a refrigerator, I just set it off.

Great to hear. As long as they keep making them, this top is going on every PU we ever own.

Hey @zorro it does indeed look like some type of paneling sitting on there. Wouldn't trade this thing for anything out, so simple & bullet-proof.

I grabbed shots of the underside where the cover meets the cab-side box. I'm hoping this provides you with the intel needed. The hooks catch on rail stand-offs, not on the actual bed itself so as long as the bed rug doesn't wrap up over the sides you should be fine. This is also why its so easy to pull out entirely if needed. Just fold it up, release to two carabiners and pull it out.

Photo is a tad rough, it's snowing so I had to be somewhat quick. I had also bookmarked this video, have a look at this timestamp. You'll be able to see how it slots in, it's about the most un-intrusive (yet very secure) box design I can think of really.

Before I buy one more question how susceptible to dings dents are these panels _ they look a little on the thin side ...?

2018 F150 Lariat 3.5EB replaced with 2024 KR w PAT, 2019 Bullitt, 2019 FLHTP
I just installed Lomax-Matte Black on my 2024 KR w PAT yesterday. I did much research and agree that the ease of installation and build quality make it a winner. It works with the PAT and power tailgate. Since I am only on day 2, I have not had experience with leakage issues. I am thinking the PAT will allow additional water intrusion especially in a car wash.

I had Extang Solid Fold 2.0 for six years on my last two F150s transferred from one to the other. I let it go with my last truck. I don’t think it will work well with the PAT but I didn’t try it.

They are made to order and ship quickly. I ordered on November 25 and received it on December 1.

So I found a fairly new cover from "Extang Endure ALX" like the Solid Fold 2.0 except it fits flush and stacks and stands at the front if you want. Problem is by the time I get through pricing it out I'm at like $1700 - F*@k that. So I may just kick the extra $$$ and get a Diamondback Switchback and be done with it ...
What did you decide on? I've been debating between the Switchback and the Lomax (leaning towards the Lomax for the ease of removal since I need to haul dirt/gravel/yardwaste)
