Adding Tailgate Handle with Trailer Light

I'm looking to swap my current tailgate handle to one that has the light integrated into the handle housing. Has anyone done this? Is it a direct swap or is a harness involved?

No clue. That would be a great swap though.

I would think you have to tap into your cargo light harness some how, doubt there’s a plug and play kit. Or if you have bed lights?

You have to upgrade to electric release in order to have a handle that has the light. You need a new tailgate harness.

you’ll not retain the locking tailgate because it will be push button release.

you’ll need to add the electric actuator for the tailgate release.

they do not offer the trailer light on manual release tailgate

That’s an expensive part for a simple light. Maybe you we be better off with something like this.

SPV wiring harness and rear light brackets with diode dynamics ssc2 sports.
