ABP offroad topper — thoughts?

Hey friends!

I'm in the market for a topper. I've been rocking a tonneau w/ Yakima racks and RTT. Well, time has shown, the rack system can't take my abuse and before it fully falls apart on the trail or worse yet at 80mpg, I'm pulling it all off.

Upon research, I've found ADP Off-road, which are similar to SmartCap and RLD Designs.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Look pretty cool, and should suit my needs perfectly. My one criticism is the gap between cab and topper, but everything else looks solid!

I’ve seen the SmartCaps. Nice but not what I wanted. I’ve got a Caravan Camper Shell with roof racks. Steel top with several models and options but you must pick up no delivery. These are custom made to order unless you can find a used top but for our newer trucks, no chance.

I was dang close to pulling the trigger. Through the process of deciding, ended up finding a used SmartCap.

I think the product is close to being rad, but I'm not sure it's quite there yet. Hard to say without actually seeing it in person. I had a hard time with the fit. From the photos the owner provided it sits pretty far off the cab. The doors don't seet super flush w/ the rest of the cap too, but it does have adjuster bolts. Again, without seeing it in person, hard to say.

The owner said Stage3 will be carrying a Ranger version. I don't know though.

I just lie to myself. Works everytime. At the pump, I go inside and don't look at the total when I come out. I only pay $20 to fill up! lol... So I tell myself. The wife doesn't agree.

Hope it works out well enough for you. I’m sure a used SmartCap wasn’t cheap. These steel tops are $$$. I love my Caravan.
