Hello everyone I am back after my prior dealer shenanigans post. I ended up pulling the trigger on the 502A BAP Carbonized Gray 3.5L and wanted to share it with all of you because I have not found any non Ford.com CGI pictures of this truck online. So you are going to get a set live from my driveway. :)

tl;dr: It is freaking sweet in stock form.. can't wait to see it in a few weeks with tires/leveling.

The dealer I talked about in my prior post played more shenanigans yesterday with my trade value after I had arrived to pickup the truck (over an hour drive away from me). Long story short once the dust settles they're going to be hearing from me in the reviews, even if I get nothing out of it hopefully nobody else will have to go through the BS. The reality is I got a pretty decent deal given the implied "rarity" of this exact build. So it's not the end of the world.

I have a few questions for you all I will post in a separate reply. Let me know if you have any questions about this truck!!

Questions

1. Can I make carplay full screen? Nobody at the dealer could figure it out.

2. I'm measuring about 3.5" of rake. This really caught me off guard as this is not an FX4 as you can see and it does not have max tow or max payload. Only the regular software towing package with the 7 pin and such. Is this as expected? If I want to level I might have to drop the block in the back and put a puck or struts in? (please see pic of the block, I had a hard time measuring. Are the blocks usually about 1.25"?)

3. I've read a lot of posts about rust on these things straight out the factory. Should I do anything about this or is it fine? (see pic)

Payload on the door is in around 1,650 lbs if anyone is curious.

4. I ordered Falken Wildpeak in 285/65/20. Does anyone know if this will fit in stock form (about 34.6" tire) without issues while I work on the plan for the level? I see a few posts here on the forum that say yes but anyone with first hand experience?

Beautiful truck.

1. The Sync4 screen has sidecard during Android Auto (I'm not IPhone). I do not believe anyone has figured out a hack for full screen yet. But remember that partial screen is still huge relative to 99% of the screens we have ever had before. And besides, you might like seeing your bed camera while you are driving around. :)

2. Trucks come with rake. It's functional and good engineering. I admit that our truck culture has curiously morphed into thinking it doesn't look good, but a truck is a truck first, by engineering standards. Those of us who use them as trucks, towing and hauling cargo, would not be happy if the truck came "level". I'm just saying.

3. That rust is esthetically unappealing, but is no threat to the health of the truck. But it's easy enough to address if it bothers you.

4. 34.6" tires will be right at the limit of rubbing with an oem offset wheel. All you can do is mount them to know for sure. However, if you do raise the front even a portion of what is available from something like a Bilstein 5100, you shouldn't have an issue.

Sweet truck and saweeeet garage floor. Was the floor a DIY job?
Sadly, no. But there is a reason. a high quality and durable/long lasting epoxy job starts with diamond grinding the concrete. much better to have a professional come do it. Not terrible, it ended up being about $5/sq ft a few yrs ago

Curious, is this an OTA software update or does one need to do the whole Forscan process to show the bed cam while driving?

I've always been able to do it. I just scroll up on the 'small' section of the 12" screen (right side)
until 'bed camera' pops up. I tap it and away it goes?

Thanks for the info. A buddy who has a ‘21 didn’t know how and I was curious for when my ‘22 arrives in a couple weeks. And to confirm, it stays on at speed?

Mine did, yes. I was watching my trailer with it. It does not take up the full 12" screen though. Just the small portion on the right. (Not my truck pictured - pulled it off the net)
