I am hearing an engine knock duting start up and also when I drive at low speed taking off from stops or through a development. Dealers says its normal. Not the ticking typewritter noise. Thanks in advance. Tried to upload a video but it says to large.

Good morning! IF you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your noise concern on my end.

Yeah this is normal for 5.0. I ran 91+ octane and knock went away.

That engine loves high octane fuel. I compared the fuel economy on my 2018 F150 with 93 versus 87 octane I got about 2 miles per gallon better mpg. I also ran premium fuel from Costco which minimize some of the volatility in fuel prices.

When I did the math, it cost me about to a half to one cent more per mile, which I thought was negligible for the improve engine performance and no knock. Also, in general, the engine ran a lot smoother and quieter on high-octane fuel.
