my 21 began developing this strange noise during warmup over the last few weeks. I narrowed it down to the passenger wastegate area and took this video.

I took it to the dealership today and I just got a call back stating that this is within specs and they cant do anything about it. I've never heard this nose before... I've owened a 3.5 eco since 2016 (a 2016 and a 2021).

What are my options? Is this something that will slowly\quickly get worse?

if this is on start up...is it not the MACHINE verifying all things are working?
my 21 6.7 did all kinds of actuators moving to full cycle and back
my 22 f150 is very quiet and i am hard of hearing, so i never hear many things
but i do hear noises and hmms .

does this stop after the engine is ready to go after the start up sequence?

Within the last month or two my truck started a similar noise to yours on a cold start. 3.5L V6 2021, I have 22k miles on the truck currently. Owned it from new and no wastegate noises on a cold start until now. One difference between our issues is the noise on my truck comes from the driver's side around the brake master cylinder area.

No DTCs when I checked the truck yesterday.

does this stop after the engine is ready to go after the start up sequence?
On my truck, yes, the noise stops for the rest of the day, then repeats again on the next cold start.

Any updates on this noise and if it's normal?
It’s rather normal. Wastegate flapper makes noise until warmed up. A spring can be added to stop the rattle

Also, being the wastegate is computer controlled, Could have been an update and its just as powerboatr said, just testing movement at cold start.

No, it’s not an operational check of sorts.
It’s play in the linkage and the flapper. When they warm up, the clatter stops.
