2021 Ford F-150 Design Templates

Good evening, friends! I recently wanted to have something custom made using the font and design style of "F-150 Lariat" insignia that are on the fenders of our new Ford F-150s.

I sent a photo of the fender badge off to the design guy, and he said the chrome finish would not do well in regards to translating to an image, or for tracing. I guess the six coats of wax and ceramic spray I have on the truck probably didn't help with dulling the shine from the chrome....

I really wanted this design on the product I was ordering, but it looked like I was going to have to settle for his F-150 template, or something styled with the generation thirteen font or older. If you look closely at the fender badges on the generation fourteen Ford F-150s, they use a slightly different font style for the "F-150" and the trim name (XL, XLT, Lariat, Platinum, Limited) than they have in previous model years.

Having a design emblem of an older truck in my ride, just wasn't going to fly. So I had to get creative. It took several hours of fine tuning across various photo editing applications, but I think I finally nailed it!

Here are some traces/Vectors I put together for the XL, XLT, Lariat, Platinum, and Limited trims which are the most similar to the generation fourteen design style that I've found anywhere online. These can also be downloaded and saved as PNG image files which I was advised makes it easier for computer designers to use and to trace from.

I worked my ass off on these, and my OCD helped ensure everything was lined up and proportioned as neatly and accurately as possible!

I DID NOT forget about you King Ranch and STX guys believe me. I’m just not that creative, or steady handed.

The STX logo has a font where the “ST” flows together, and the “X” is a different font completely and slightly bigger

The King Ranch would have also been very difficult to make it look correct up to my standards with its varying font sizes and proprietary logos, at least with the resources available to me. A bit above my pay grade!

I did give both of the the old college try though, and they just didn’t look right. Thankfully the XL, XLT, Lariat, Platinum, and Limited emblems all had consistent font and sizing, so those came out really nicely!

Thank you. They seem very simple, but doing most of this on my phone, and getting it JUST right was a PITA a large part of the time!

I was hoping there were some dimensions listed by Ford somewhere for the vent/badge area, but I'll just take measurements myself. Thanks for offering.
