I am having issues with my new Viper alarm going off while I am driving. I cannot shut it off when this happens. The installer has tried twice now by resetting. They called it re flash the system. The chirp goes off randomly too. They have decreased the sensitivity twice.

Anyone else having alarm issues on their 2021 F150?

A Viper alarm should never be able to 'arm' while it is seeing an ignition input(power to it while you are driving). The flashing is the software they use to talk to the F150 computers accordingly. If the software code is off, it will need an update/reflash. But junky hardware is still what it is.
Just an FYI, Viper(Directed elec.) went bankrupt last year and is now owned by Audiovox...and as a prior 12yr. Viper dealer, I'd suggest doing what all us Pros did years ago and look for better brand. (hint: Idatalink, DC3)

Wow, thank you for this info. I had no idea. I have already invested so much on this system. They are going to have to fix it or replace it on them.

Thank you.

What are some of the benefits of adding an aftermarket alarm? I mean outside of notifying you that your alarm was set off remotely I don’t know what these new trucks need as they already come equipped with pretty solid alarms

With my stock alarm I was never able to set it off except for the inside. The after market has shock sensors so better to alarm before they ever get in. Plus I’m notified when it goes off it’s a big investment. I’m going to use everything available to protect it. Living in a high crime city also contributes to my decision making.
However Viper does not seem to agree with the 2021 F150. Tomorrow is their last attempt to trouble shoot it going off while I’m driving. If they can’t fix it they are going to replace it with another brand.

Ah gotcha. Never really tried to set mine off but my last one had those proximity sensors that worked fairly well.
let us know if they get it fixed up for you!

Ok, I just got a call from the installer. He said that tech support said that it is having an issue with the smart key. They put a new brain in, flashed it and using the DS4 remote. they said they fill its fixed but I have to use the second remote. The reason I went with this was that it is suppose to work with the smart key. I guess I will be carrying two remotes now. They said I have to pay $89 for the remote. What do you think?
