The error in in the HCM module, based on you saying you carefully checked the values, I suspect you are using the wrong check code for your truck config. If you post a screenshot of your HCM as-built values, I would be happy to help get it sorted.
That would be awesome! Below is my HCM as-built...

If you are seeing that from your perspective, the oncoming traffic and cars ahead of you are experiencing what glarefree offers.

It has to be ideal conditions (dark and low ambient lighting) for you to see the pie splicing going on. Once you see it, you can't un-see it.
I haven't seen the light spilt but can see when road is well lit and left side is dim with oncoming traffic. Then it ramps back up to full brightness after traffic passes by.

One thing I haven't figured out if it is a feature or just how my lights happen to be aimed. The beam upper cutoff in city traffic is always right below brake lights of what is in front of me when stopped at a stoplight. Seems to be same if it is a short car or truck in front of me.

If you have trees or brush or something reflective far enough left of the oncoming vehicle, (2 lane) you can see that the truck is throwing light farther on the left, just as it is on the right, of the oncoming vehicle. It could only do that if it has some kind of moving curtain?
I wish I better understood the mechanism itself. I've only seen marketing style information.
The downside of this kind of technology is ridiculous replacement cost. Pretty intimidating, to be honest.

Thank you
Sorry I accidentally tagged you on that reply Dvcpro13. I think in your case since you are seeing the dimming and no error you are already set in the HCM department.

What I was going to suggest to you is : watch the edges of the road / ditch when your lights dim for a single car in front of you. You should see that those areas and potentially the other lane are still well lit, more so than low beams only. That is a good indicator the glare free is doing its thing. Because of the ramping it’s not always immediately obvious the high beams are still on with only a portion dimmed out for other traffic. As others have said though if you find yourself in perfect conditions to really see it working you’ll never be unable to unsee it from that point forward.

Thank you. I’ll check it out now that I know better what to look for.

In the HCM set the following values:

734-01-01 0111 0101 0051

734-01-02 0300 0001 0042

734-01-04 0053 4EE1
That worked! When I first copied the changes from Livinitup's spreadsheet several months ago, it showed xx3x xxxx xx-- for 734-01-02. Or, I guess I could have somehow messed up when I copied/pasted to my notes. After you called that out to me, I checked the latest spreadsheet and it indeed shows x3xx xxxx xx-- now. I should have checked the spreadsheet against my notes before I started making changes. Lesson learned!

Thank you @ROBB1 !

Justin ...

I'm kind of in the same boat here .... after following the posted spreadsheet instructions I'm getting the "Headlight Error" that others have mentioned. The truck is a Canadian '23 Lariat Hybrid, with 502A and a short box ... the Glare Free option was not enabled when i got it. I've tried the two variations of the "short box" codes as posted in the spreadsheet for the HCM entries with no luck. I can post my as built for the HCM Monday when I'm back at work (my work truck).

Thanks in advance for your help and your contributions for the Hobby ...:)

Kevin,

I would be happy to take a look. Along with the as-built, also copy down any DTCs you have just in case.
