Hello i have a question hoping someone in the forms can help me out. Driving over bumps and you will hear the sound tapping sound and no it is not the motor it is coming from the suspension. I have the video of it. You will hear A lot of wind noise but listen carefully you will hear tap. Drives fine. Please help me on this seeing which direction to take. Best to TURN VOLUME UP!!! You will hear it at 0:11 Seconds in and keeps going then it stops doing it. No Check Engine Light On. It has 149,000 Miles On IT.

Maybe ball joint? I would start by jacking up the front and testing for wheel bearing play, ball joint (a few good vids in YouTube for that). How long have you owned the truck? At 10 years old there are a few suspension components that can start to make noises over bumps like that. If 4x4 no steering dampener.

I have owned it since 28,000 miles It now has 149,000 miles on it. Every thing is tight on the front end.
I have not done the front shocks or the front tie rod ends or anything in the front end. Other then brakes and rotors. What are your thoughts and you did hear it in the video?

I hear it at 11 seconds. It almost sounds like it may be a vacuum hub issue. That is very common on 12th gen’s. If there is a leak at the diaphragm they tend to chatter or clank/half engage. It’s called the ESOF system.

One trick you can do is to pull the vac line off of the vacuum hubs temporarily and it will default to locked with no vacuum. You can also take the vacuum lines off from the solenoid on the firewall. If the noise goes away that may be your issue.

The Noise does not get louder it is just soft. I can only hear it when the window is down and doing about 35 mph some times i can hear it doing about 50 mph. If the road is smooth it wont do it. It will do it over bumps and going over a bridge then i can hear it. So you think it could be my Four Wheel Drive?
