Can somebody tell me why my ‘21 Lariat display (the driver’s dash display, not the Sync 4 screen) says “READY” in green in the lower right? The word is always there. What are we “ready” for? I can’t find this anywhere in the manual (but obviously difficult to search by that keyword).

When you start your vehicle, a green READY indicator light appears in the instrument cluster letting you know that your vehicle is ready for driving.
The engine may not start because your vehicle has a silent key start feature. This fuel saving feature allows your vehicle to be ready to drive without requiring the gas engine to be running.
The indicator remains on when your vehicle is on, whether the engine is running or not, to indicate your vehicle is capable of movement using the electric motor, gas engine or both.
Typically, the engine does not start unless the vehicle is cold, a climate control change is requested or you press the accelerator pedal.

I'm not making this up....

I purchased my first Powerboost (2021 Platinum) as a 100% impulse purchase from a dealership that I have had more than 20 years of purchasing history. Both my salesman and myself was not expecting me to part with my 2018 KingRanch because I had $pent far too much aftermarket on it.

Add to that my ongoing glowing reports about the new truck, as I visited the dealership on a couple of occasions following the purchase, the salesman caved in and purchased a Powerboost AND an RV. Lol

A couple of weeks after buying his Powerboost he called ME and asked about the Ready on his instrument cluster.

So don't feel bad asking. :)

Yup, what everyone else said is correct. We've had 3 Ford hybrids, my BP that was just built will be #4. I really wish Ford would stop with that light. I do not need to be shown a dash light unless there is a problem. Drives me nuts. Still after all these years it will catch my eye and I'm like ,shit what's going on with my car. Then I'm like, oh yea, that hybrid ready light. I prefer the approach to not show dash lights unless there is a problem.

Yeah, I agree. Funny to be seeing a light while you are going down the highway towing that says that the truck is ready to drive. Thanks.
