If you mean the wires to connect to the upfitter switches, they are in front of the battery. You don't need to disconnect/remove the battery, I didn't, but I think it could help.
Just as a follow up I ended up using T-taps and just grounding to the battery. Super easy but would be easier if Ford made the wires longer or offered some sort of factory wiring harness. Wires are labeled, I used 5 and 6 since it was low voltage.
