Try googling the website 12 volt solutions. They make sweet plug and play remote starters that use your existing key fob and NO wire splicing. Their customer service is also A1. Installed a couple systems. Highly recommend seeing if they make one for the F150. Their site has a lookup tool.
The dealer told me it changes the programming that the fluid circulation pump doesn’t kick on right away when it’s extremely cold (which is what caused the noise) and now allows the engine and Trans to first warm a bit thus making the fluid more viscous before the pump kicks in. There’s so many...
Had a silver rav and a white pilot….both did this. It’s from the disc brakes. Not much you can do about it to my knowledge. Just shows up on lighter colours
Honestly I’d have to dig through this thread. It’s in here. I think it was maybe snakebitten that posted it? It’s a nice screen shot. I’ll try and dig it up and repost it again.
Hi All (copying and pasting this post here from another thread as they are the same issue)
wanted to update you that I had the reprogramming done that ford released as a remedy a couple months ago. I’m happy to say that aside from the odd little chirp or squeak for a second or two on really...
Hi All
wanted to update you that I had the reprogramming done that ford released as a remedy a couple months ago. I’m happy to say that aside from the odd little chirp or squeak for a second or two on really cold days (-15 and below) that the noise is now completely gone. If you haven’t done...
Hi,
So my truck started periodically displaying this message and when it does, phones won’t connect or even charge on the front USB a and uSB C ports in the dash. The rear port still has power. When this happens, it was sometimes solved by shutting off and restarting the truck. But now the...
same here. @Ford Motor Company I had the PCM update done and I feel the noise is a bit less obnoxious but it’s definitely still there in extreme Cold. Honestly the noise I can live with the odd cold day for 60-120 seconds warming up but I just want to make sure that in the long term If there’s...
Hey, there’s a much more in depth thread now about this same problem. Search cavitating noise powerboost.
I had a fix done this week I’ll post about it over there.
Wow fantastic information! Just hope whatever this noise is, isn’t something that over time has caused long term damage (especially after the warranty is up) ?
Hey guys
I posted a video of that same sound last winter. All I could get out of the dealer is “ford is working on it”. That was 8 months ago. I fully agree it seems like a pump struggling which makes me think It’s for the coolant lines that draw heat from the exhaust and go around the battery...
Has anybody had any definitive answer from ford or a dealer? @Ford Motor Company there are a lot of us experiencing this awful cold morning noise on our powerboost and we all want to be sure that a few years down the road (especially if our warranty is up) that this wasn’t the cause of a major...
‘21 powerboost arrived in December. 6500 kms (all winter daily driving with cold weather morning idling) 11.7L/100km (20.1mpg) which I think is awesome!
Oh my god so it was a stupid question I was asking. I’ve never owned a car where the radio worked without pressing the ignition button or in the old days, turning the key one click forward or backwards. Thanks for the tip!!
I find weather is a huge factor. Here in Canada, in -20 weather it doesn't run near as often or as far in battery mode, but as soon as its around 10 celsius (50f) it seems to make a huge difference. Obviously heater settings play a big role as do battery temps before it's warmed up.
Literally just the radio, but i think bmwtof150 might have answered my question. Ive never had a car that you can turn on the radio without having to first press the ignition button to power up the vehicle. I'll try it tonight when I have the truck and let you guys know if that works.
Thanks!!
Hi, forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question, however I cannot figure out how to activate just accessory power on my 2021 Powerboost.
For example on most vehicles with push button start, one tap of the start button (with your foot off the brake) activates accessory power (radio...
