After having around 15K miles on it, the ride is a little changed. When not towing I run the factory preset of 5psi. It makes it a little rigid. My wife doesn't like it so I pulled the fuse and lowered to 1-2psi and it is like it back at stock.
I too was thinking of a relay option with a switch in the cabin. You could in a sense, turn it off on demand, say when you are not in a ped x-ing target-rich environment. Too bad you can't get the overhead upfitter switches like on the SD. That would be a great solution.

I run the Andersen set-up on my 34 foot 7,000lbs Travel trailer. I have over 10K miles on it and only replaced the friction cup twice (due to my error). One thing to keep in mind, turn off your truck sway control when running a WDH with anti-sway.
