I don’t know if the gauge cluster is tied to the center screen or not, but you can force Sync to restart by pressing the radio power button and the tune up |>> button at the same time and holding them until the system restarts. This could potentially clear up any remaining gremlins.
The other thing that you should probably check is the fuses in the engine bay. Many have reported that they weren’t fully seated from the factory, so give ‘em all a good push to make sure that they’re all in properly.
Just for convenience, to get into Engineering Mode, simply hold down the OK button on the right side of the steering wheel and start the truck. The center display will indicate that you are in EM and you can release the OK button. A press on the up arrow will land you on the AFE BIAS (Average...
Keep in mind that the electric motor is designed to kick in as soon as you release the brake pedal to start moving the vehicle as though it were powered by a conventional running ICE. If the transmission isn’t functioning correctly, this could cause the jerk that you’re experiencing. Of course...
I believe that it's related to the overall current draw on the system. If you exceed a certain threshold, then the ICE will run to supply the necessary power.
1. Esentially, no. It normally resets to Normal after not being used for a while. I typically drive in Econ, but have to select it at each start unless the vehicle hasn't been sitting for too long. In that case, it will ask if I want to stay in Econ. I'm not sure how long that it has to sit...
Hmm...this sounds a bit fishy. My 2018 EcoBoost had the 36 gallon tank and I filled it with 35 gallons a couple of times when I ran it very low, so it sounds like something isn't configured right. There's no way you should have a 180 mile reserve. That's absurd.
There may be something in the...
When you tried to turn on the radio, had you stepped on the brake pedal and pushed the Start button? When you remote start, the accessories are off and you have to turn the truck on to enable them.
Are you certain that the tailgate isn't locking? If you have the key fob on your person when you check it, I'm pretty sure that it will unlock automatically for you. Lock the truck and then leave the key fob far away from the truck and try opening it.
Sorry to hear about your incident. That's heartbreaking.
The running boards will likely protect you from car doors, which are lower, but I doubt that they'd prevent door dings from another truck that is higher up.
I've read that the block heater takes several hours to come up to temperature and become effective, so just a quick jolt from the battery probably wouldn't do much. It's essentially intended to be run overnight.
The electronics, in particular the high-voltage components, do make noise. I could easily hear them in my Toyota Highlander, but I don't hear a similar high-pitched whine from my PowerBoost.
At any rate, you could just be lucky enough to have good hearing in the high-frequency range that...
I noticed that the windshield on my 2021 Limited states that is is sound-deadening glass. I find that this new truck is noticeably quieter than my 2018 was.
The one thing that is really nice about the higher end systems is that they include support for digital radio or HD radio. The quality there is really nice so if you live in an area that has very many HD stations, this might be something to consider.
My experience with Sirius/XM is that their...
I'm coming from a 2018 EcoBoost and while that truck's transmission had a couple of scary clunking and jerking downshifts when brand new, it smoothed out and never did it again. I assumed in learned from its mistakes.
With my 2021 PowerBoost, I haven't had any bad downshifts so far (knock on...
Im not sure what may be available, but similar to the anti fog treatments you can get for glasses, you may be able to find a hydrophobic treatment that will help shed the water drops. Just a thought.
As far as the speed limits are concerned, the built-in navigation database for Sync 4 has the speed limits within it, but if they have been changed recently, it might be wrong. If you don’t have the Copilot features in the truck, the speed limits will come from the database. If you do have...
The one thing that you might want to keep in mind is cost reductions. The first model year of a vehicle comes with pretty much everything that the designers and engineers had in mind and is all pretty much new content. In the following years, they are tasked with cost reductions to increase...
If it helps, I read many of the same complaints about the previous generation’s backup camera too. Because of where it needs to be positioned to get the right view, I don’t think there’s much that can be done other than to add a larger and uglier housing around it and then recess it in there...
