Mine lower bumper piece did come as raw black plastic. You could have the plate powdered and the plastic painted to match. The light on the underside of the truck is shadowed so exact match isn’t that important. Close match is plenty good enough. You could certainly paint it yourself if you are...

The only thing I didn’t use were the J clips that attach the back end of the skid plate because my truck already had them in place. And I didn’t use the front bumper covers because I like the original ones better. Everything else in the kit I used.

Oh no. Bumper has to come off. But it’s not that hard to take off the truck.

Mine was definitely bare black raw plastic.

I got no mileage drop at all. My truck was leveled on 33s and that did cause about 2mpg drop, but adding the skid plate didn't change a thing. I suspect the air damn doesn't even help once the truck is leveled.
