Just had mine replaced for the same thing. The torque converter was the initial issue and then metal was found in the transmission. Thankfully my extended warranty covered a large portion of it. The new transmission came with a three year unlimited mileage warranty which was helpful. Best of luck.
Additional update: now needing a whole new transmission. Litchfield Ford is thus far earning a gold star for how they have been handling this and working with me.
So update: dealership completed a TSB update after confirming what i was hearing. However the update did not resolve this issue during test drive. So transmission specialist will be looking at it either today or tomorrow and they are leaning towards torque converter.
