  1. Ford Recalls 103K F-150 Over Damaged Axle Bolts

Just got my recall notice on the axle bolts - 2023 with a 1/23 manufacture date. NHTSA Recall 25V512. I did not qualify by VIN on the prior notice through late '22 build dates. Specifically mentions "Parts are not available" but I'll get a notice when "the remedy becomes available".
  2. NHTSA Safety Recall (23V-896) on 113,000 F-150 Trucks with Trailer Tow Max Duty Package

Called the dealer and my '23 Lariat Max Tow is not covered by the recall according to the Service Dept. No letter either. Bummer. Manufacture date is 01/2023. Possible that the recall is being done in phases?
  3. New updated Max Tow axles installed

Is Ford rolling out a fix with this updated design (OD threaded axle)? Is Ford sending out notices to get this fixed? Or is this the Dorman solution? Just got off a chat with Ford and status quo - "fix under development."
  4. Stiffening up the land yacht

If the suspension product is attached to an F-250 it will increase GVWR vs your F150. Ford is engineering safety margin into a system with a weakest link (as all systems have).
  5. The Great Suspension Debate; Which kit is best for you?

Nope. Just off the shelf shocks and that was Eibach's "easy button" and cost effective recommendation. I just validated with Eibach tech support that the Stage 2 coilover will work fine at 500 lb/in. But you'd have to buy the springs separately and then replace the standard 450 lb/in springs...
  6. Lariat grill vinyl mod (tremor-like)

Just did this today. Took it to my local wrap guy. $100 for a quality install and the wrap guy didn't need to remove grill to get a seamless install. Looks really good on Area 51 Blue.
  7. 5L vs 3.5L?

For what it's worth I've owned a 5.0 (2013 XLT SuperCrew 4x4 3.55) and now 3.5 EB (2023 Lariat SuperCrew 4x4 3.55 Max Tow). Out in the mountain West the EB does noticeably better at altitude. The 5.0 needs a little pursuasion. The 3.5 is really "truck-y" with everyone noting low-end torque...
  8. The Great Suspension Debate; Which kit is best for you?

The alternative is using the Eibach Pro-Truck Sport with the OEM spring (514 lb/in). Is that shock going to be any more compatible/durable with that higher OEM spring rate? Would be nice if the top tier aftermarket vendors would design for the Max Tow configuration seeing as Ford made about 120K...
  9. The Great Suspension Debate; Which kit is best for you?

Got ahold of the OEM spring rate - 514 lb/in. So physically - an Eibach 500 lb/in spring in the 14" x 3" format will fit the shock. But the shock is valved for the 450 lb/in springs that come with the kit. Would I even notice? The OEM setup is oversprung/underdamped to a ridiculous degree.
  10. Reliability study shows EcoBoost 3.5L V6 on top

A lot of good hypothesizing. I follow a few Ford mechanics who make a lot of $$ doing timing jobs and leak repairs on Gen 1 and more recently Gen 2 3.5s. My take is that people like this engine enough to put $7K into a periodic rebuild. And that the rest of the truck is working well enough to...
  11. Front Spring Rates Table for Gen 14?

Great question and hopefully informative to the forum (Ford counts about 120,000 Max Tow packages from '21 - '23). The next step down, non Max Tow, in OEM spring rates on F-150s is from 434 - 474 in/lbs which is close enough for Eibach's 450 spring. Lowering the Max Tow front spring rate from...
  12. Front Spring Rates Table for Gen 14?

I want to say the front axle rating correlates to basic configuration. In my case the 3,600 lb Gross Axle Weight Rating is for a 145" wheelbase Supercrew with Max Tow. The Lariat with 302a package eats up some of the payload vs a stripped XL. It's all about the door stickers.
  13. Front Spring Rates Table for Gen 14?

So 3600 lbs combined rating, looks like 514 lbs/in vs 450 on the Eibachs. Probably need to go with the Pro-Truck Sports with OEM spring then. Thanks for the Info!
  14. Front Spring Rates Table for Gen 14?

Looking for a spring rate table for the various F-150 configurations. I see one for the '15+ on another forum but nothing for Gen 14 updated for config and Ford Part# (or Engineering Number). I have a '23 Lariat Supercrew 4x4 with 302a, FX4 and Max Tow. Front springs seem to have a higher rate...
  15. The Great Suspension Debate; Which kit is best for you?

When you state "Coil Springs cannot be changed out" I'm assuming you mean that we can't specify a custom spring rate with the purchase. The coil overs would allow disassembly and changing a spring correct?
