That's not a bad option, honestly. I take it you didn't run into any issues with BLIS or anything like that? I know that I'll need to make some edits in forscan, which is fine. I just assumed the Chinese ones would throw errors left and right.
Understood - but I'm talking about tail lights only. My headlights are already LED from the factory (as is every other light on the truck except for the tail/break lights).
Blinding others with my tail lights is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. I find that almost all of the bulbs referenced in...
Hey guys,
There are LOTS of posts on here and other sites about replacement bulbs that will work well for the stock non-LED tail lights. My problem is that they all seems to marvel at how much brighter they are. I don’t fully understand that. I appreciate that it makes you more visible, but...
OP Final Results: removal of the airbags and the addition of the Bilstein 5100s and Active Road Suspension SD kit solved my problem of sag while significantly improving the ride quality.
I want to thank everyone on here for responding to my request for clear direction in order to avoid another...
Billstein 5100s and RAS SD kit ordered. I can't thank you all enough for taking the time to help me get this sorted. I feel good about this plan and am excited for the install. I'll update folks with results to get this on the interwebs for future reference.
In the meantime, if anyone needs...
Thanks, all. So it sounds like my plan is to first install the rear Bilsteins. I'll see how we do with that. I might even just go ahead and order the RAS SD kit now since it seems likely that I'll install those also (just to get rid of the bags).
Last question (for now) - I came across the...
THANK YOU. That is very clear and helpful breakdown. Adding the Bilsteins feels like the right approach given ease of and time of installation. That said, being able to adjust is also desirable.
Follow-up questions:
1. Would either option allow me to eliminate the airbags altogether? I'd say...
Late last year I installed 2" spacers in the front to get rid of some of the rake, which to me was just too intolerable. That impacted the rear (obviously) on the occasion that have a payload or the whole family in the truck. To address this, I added airbags which I now regret, because when the...
Hey All,
I added 2.5" front lift, which left me with squat when fully loaded with passengers, or when hauling anything with some weight to it. To address this I added airbags, which definitely takes the squat out when inflated, but it also leaves me with a super stiff ride. Even with no PSI, I...
There are a few things up there, but it sounds like you're referring to the interior temperature/humidity sensor, which is located on the drivers side of that assembly.
I just completed the rain sensing upgrade, myself. I, too thought it was odd that the factory-installed rain sensor harness...
Just following-up on my install. Have a 24 XLT 303A (so has 360 cameras, etc.). I had the connector behind the rearview but it had not power going to it. I couldn't be bothered to try and find a way to get power to it, so I got the harness from Jesse (Infotainment). The installation was SUPER...
does anyone have the bulb # handy for this? I have a 2024XLT and looking to upgrade to the LED. I believe license plate is 194 so just need tail/turn/break. Thanks in advance!
Have you tried using calm view? I’ve found that while it doesn’t change the brightness per se, the peripheral fading of the screen background lowers the light. I have nighttime light sensitivity myself, and this has helped considerably. It’s certainly better than my 2018 F150. I hated how bright...
The truck looks great! I just added 2.5” spacers in the front. Since that caused some sag in the back with even modest payload I added airbags which really stiffened things up. In general, while they have served their purpose (stiffening up the rear when carrying a load) they have definitely...
Thanks! I just ordered the part and am eager to get it installed. It's funny how the little things really change the experience. As I get older I have to admit that I've turned into a real princess when it comes to driving.
I remember back in my 20s when all I could afford was an old jeep that...
I was about to order the sensor to do this mod. Now I'm wondering if it's worth it? On a previous vehicle I had a rain sensing wiper. Every once in a while it wasn't as active as I'd like, but I could adjust the sensitivity and overall I thought it worked great. Very convenient.
For those of...
I just installed air bags to prevent sagging when I'm carrying a payload, which started happening after I lifted the front 2.5" via spacers. I almost never tow anything but every so often I will have a heavy load in back. When unloaded, the ride now is super stiff, which I expected for obvious...
Thanks. It is annoying that it pings you every few seconds, but if I rest my hand on it that seems to be enough. I'd rather stick with that than get the constant Bluecruise on/off - and that is true at any price!
