Mine does that too. It’s open ended on the other side of the thread, it doesn’t necessarily lock into place when tightening

I actually figured it out. My black door hinge mechanism thing was dry as a bone and was rattling when the door was shut. I soaked it in white lithium grease and no more rattles. Thanks for the help tho!!

So the “loose hardware” did not in fact fix anything. After several attempts of taking my door panel off myself, it turned out to be the black door hinge. I noticed the similar metal tapping sound when I opened and closed my door. I didn’t have nothing else to try, so I got some white lithium...

Just talked to my dealer, they were able to find the noise and apparently there was “loose hardware inside door panel” only time will tell if they actually fixed it. Hope this helps. God bless.
