No updates as of yet...been helping the wife after her foot surgery. There has been no time for crawling under truck fun. Hopefully this weekend will allow me this!
Str8Shooter,
I think the biggest problem the dealer has is staffing...finding a mechanic who knows how to read and diagnose the computer level issues is no doubt difficult.
The big bummer I get from them is they can't/won't cover the rental until after they diagnose the problem. Every other...
Buschlatte,
Thank you for your ideas. After lifting the hood and checking the fuse block, I will be rolling around on the ground under the truck looking for obvious connection issues. I didn't realize those sensors would cause all these errors, however, it does seem likely the more I think...
Viper, Thanks for this suggestion...I should have considered the fuse issue. I read the other thread(s) about how they were not seated properly and told myself to check them...and then forgot.
I am heading to lift the hood now...
:)
Greetings all,
Truck:
2021 F-150, Crew Cab, XLT
This morning on the way to work, I hit a pothole. (I know, I found the ONLY one around to hit!)
Moments after, the chimes all start going off and the error messages start popping up on the screen...and I mean lots of them. (Think of...
I believe Mr. "All Who Wander..." is correct. Every time I hook up the horse trailer, I run through the light test. Tail lights (markers, running lights) have to be tested manually with the headlight knob. Most of the time it is dark when I end up hooking up to the horse trailer...my wife...
Personally, I prefer the 36 gal tank...it means I save time by not having to stop at the gas station often.
As for your enticement of bonus points...
Must have: Tailgate step! Somewhere else in here I told the story of it being the only option I didn't ask for...and loving it more than any...
At my house it is my wife and me...and the two dogs...the dogs keep showing me their license saying they will drive...I've quit trying to explain it to them, and then open the back seat windows and they forget all about driving.
???
When I purchased my 2013, the only option/accessory it had that I hadn't asked for was the tailgate step. I told the salesdude, sure, that's fine. (Even the color was right!)
Turns out...that was the best $350 I ever spent! Every F150 since has had one specified, (the 2018 and now the 2021)...
Mine has been looking just like the pictures above...
Dealer looked at it when it was in for windshield redo, they noticed scrapes on the bottom of the damn dam, took pictures to send off to the engineers at factory. They said they wanted to make sure the factory would pay for the repair...
Me too! Me too! I noticed it looks just like everyone's pictures. I mentioned it to the Service Writer on the phone when scheduling the windshield recall work...he is going to do research, so he is ready when I bring it in.
Now I see a pattern...I too received the "left turn signal" error with no trouble with the light (LED) on trailer flashing away happily...something to keep awareness of and report if it pops up again!
When I received my truck, in the back seat was the sensor, and...
...wait for it...
...in the glove box was the pack of stickers.
I installed the sensor on the new horse trailer as the stickers never worked well on the old one.
I do all this for my wife, she just can't get the hang of...
I picked up my truck from the service department this afternoon...and I learned a lot about this recall. Not only did I speak with my service advisor, but I ran into the service manager who I have known for 25+ years.
They hadn't heard about the recall yet. I filled them in from what I had...
I just picked up the wife's new horse trailer. It has a RV battery to power the lights and other nifty things.
The trailer dude stuck his tester into the 7 pin on my truck, it didn't indicate any power was flowing from the 12v line to charge the battery. (All the other connections were...
On the official Ford press release: https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2021/02/22/ford-motor-company-issues-safety-compliance.html
It does not specify or indicate in anyway that powerboost are or are not included.
Only, "The F-150 models being recalled were produced in...
