I agree. In fact, I’ll go one step further. It would be nice if they had a virtual simulator. So, while at you PC, you can operate buttons, change settings, etc. and there would be a simulated response. You could learn at your own pace. For example, the setting of the zone lighting could be...
When I was a disk drive development engineer many years ago, we had to follow the product into manufacturing and then into sustaining engineering (i.e., customer support and issue resolution). In other words, we could not toss a crappy product over the wall. We were accountable. We had to make...
Thanks for looking into this. Since the dealership hasn't gotten back to me, I am guessing that it also does not know. Interesting. Given the 12VDC on one of the pins that is fed by a relatively large conductor, it is a good bet that it is not just a signal cable but it is meant to power...
No. It isn't for the power rear window. I have a power sliding window. This connector does not connect to it. I am wondering if it is for heated rear seats. I remember reading somewhere that the higher trim packages have them.
I know what you mean about the long periods of sitting in the truck whilst learning it. The learning reminds me of when general aviation airplanes switched over from standard instrument gauges (which l learned on when I first started flying 40 years ago) to “glass cockpits.” Many pilots spent...
I have spent about 20 hours learning all the features of the 2021: the instrument panel, the various buttons, the infotainment, sync4, etc.
The last vehicle I bought new was 20 years ago and so I had a lot of catching up to do on software enabled capabilities, especially safety related. I am...
Well, I finally got my truck and I am loving it!
No issues so far. I have spent probably 20 hours learning the Sync 4, the infotainment system, programming my preferences, etc.
Here are the final stats on the time expired from the order date to dealer pick-up
order to scheduled build = 106...
Thanks. I am sure you're right. It should be fine. The dash camera draws only 200mA and the rear camera has to draw less than that. So, probably less than 5W in total.
I am going to install a dash cam with a rear window camera. I think I'll go with the Rexing V5 and the plug and play rear camera.
Any way, I have been looking for any easy to access 12DVC power source that is switched on with the ignition. I found this unused connector behind the rear crew...
I’d say 48 days based on what I’ve been told and what I’ve tracked for my San Diego delivery.
Summary of my milestones
Ordered 10/8/20
Order to build: 16 weeks
Ramp time: 1 week
Train shipment to CA: expected to be 1 week (currently in transit)
Truck delivery to dealer and dealer prep: 3.5...
BTW, mine has the bed liner, max tow package, 4x4 power train and 4x4 off-road package. Apparently, neither the liner or tow package held up the shipment.
Below is my record keeping for the order, build and delivery of my truck. It is currently in transit to Cali. It looks like it is going to take 7 days (notwithstanding weather) to get to where it will be offloaded and then trucked.
If you have a Union Pacific railcar# from your dealer, you can...
