I get this same warning message off and on periodically, so I'd be extremely grateful to anyone who can tell me what causes it and how to fix the issue.
I even printed out that TSB and handed it to the dealer when I asked them to look at the brakes.
His response was, "oh, I haven't heard of that one."
I'm going to bring it up again the next time I bring my truck in for service, but I'm going to try at a different dealership.
Mine does the exact same. It's super annoying. I asked the dealer to look at it when I had it in for an oil change and they fed me the "brakes make noise sometimes" BS line.
Given the price-point on these trucks, it's ridiculous to have brakes that squeak like this.
I'm not taking it personally at all.
I've said it multiple times now... to each his own.
I assure you, I have zero affiliation with RAD straps, other than just purchasing as set from them for my truck.
You are just proving my point though....
Would you consider it reasonable for the average...
I initially had the same question and thought I'd mound one of the back straps oriented horizontally. But once I received them and started playing with them, I discovered that the opening in the metal body of the strap is very tight and straightens out the strap as if retracts, so that it rolls...
To each his own, but I think it's important to remember that it all depends on what you want the tie-down straps for. 99% of the time, the stuff that I put in my truck bed isn't super heavy and the straps are intended to just keep things from shifting around. The RAD straps are meant to be a...
Whoops... looks like the sale ended on 1-29-24. Sorry about that!
You could certainly save some money if you have some fabrication skills and want to put in the time & effort to fabricate brackets for those straps to mount to, then bolt them to the factory cleat locations.
That said, the...
I just installed 4 of these on my truck this past weekend. They work great and bolt right on to the factory cleat locations.
RAD is currently running a 20% off sale right now, so price comes down to roughly $60 per strap (code RADLOVE). Yes, they are pricy, but the convenience factor alone...
Sure enough, that was exactly what was going on!
I never touch that switch and always just keep it on automatic, so who knows how it all of a sudden got changed to "on" instead of "automatic".
Thanks for the quick reply!
Hopefully this isn't an ongoing issue, as it would be really annoying to...
When I went out to my truck this morning, unlocked and opened the door (like usual), but I noticed that the annoying "Ford chime" started when I opened the door. It continued until I got in, closed the door, and pushed the start button. It's never done that before, so I'm wondering if there...
Can you send me some pictures of what it looks like?
Are the new caps gloss black or more like the black plastic that the rest of the mirror is made from?
Got a link to the caps you bought?
I'm not sure that's entirely true.
I've seen some videos where people have said that they found a standard vinyl wrap color that's a very close match to Leadfoot.
Problem is that I can't find those videos now.
Plus, it seems like installing a couple small pieces of vinyl would be just as much...
I tried searching around for a thread about this, but couldn't find one.
I've got a 2021 502a in Leadfoot Gray that came with tow mirrors that have chrome caps on them.
The chrome caps on the mirrors are literally the ONLY chrome parts on the entire truck and I think it looks goofy.
Rather than...
Wondering is anyone came up with a way to cap off these holes in the bottom edge of the tailgate. I recently hauled a load of crushed rock in my truck and quickly found out that those hole fill up with crushed rock as soon as you let the tailgate down. The rocks then get stuck inside the...
Same thing happened to mine.
I've got an appointment to have the dealer replace them in a few weeks (along with a few other minor repairs) under warranty.
Good to know.
Seems like it won't be too much additional effort to route the cable to the center armrest "charge only" ports, so I'll likely go that route.
