Just in case anyone happens across this later, it ended up being some kind of short to battery going from the engine bay battery fuse panel to the BCM cable. Dealer diagnosed and replaced under Ford extended warranty.
Thanks! I tried checking the alarm trigger list but Forscan is not showing that as an item
I can view so I’ll have to cross my fingers.
I think I can at least rest easy that it isn’t the BCM because I totally unplugged the connector that has the horn relay out and it’s still hot in the fuse...
My F150 was parked in the rain a couple of weeks ago when all of the sudden I hear the horn start blaring. Nothing could get it to stop, so I finally pulled the fuse for the horn in the engine bay fuse panel. I've checked a couple of times since then--hoping maybe some weird errant water...
I'm in the middle of doing this addition to my '21 Lariat 501a and I haven't been able to get the sensors recognized. I was able to add ACC a couple of months ago and when I replaced my front bumper harness I bought one with the sensor connectors in anticipation of doing this mod. Everything...
Looks like this is just crappy reporting on a crappy picture. If you look at a couple of previous replies it looks like there’s no actual indication that it’s portrait orientation or moving the physical buttons.
Yikes, yes, I would hate that. I hate that the HVAC controls are in the Sync3 display in my 2018 Explorer, but at least there are hard buttons for them too. Hate that the only way to turn on the heated steering wheel is on the screen.
Just one man’s opinion but the Android Automotive interface looks awful, at least based on that article. Color me not shocked that GM has found the absolute worst way to take advantage of the tech in those vehicles, though.
I have no interest in leveraging built-in entertainment and navigation...
Awesome list, Jessie!
Regarding the IPMA part number, there was another thread where someone thought that there might be a typo in the part since the quoted one above (ML3Z-14G490-J) isn’t something I’ve been able to find online, but a slightly different version (ML3Z-14G647-J) is listed.
Does...
Any chance that you might still have those measurements? I'm looking to add this myself (the parts are on their way, and I already swapped in the right bumper wiring harness when I added adaptive cruise).
A link to the bit you used to create the holes would be much appreciated as well if it's...
Not the respondent, but the tone of your original question and calling yourself a “privacy advocate” seems a bit disingenuous—how could anyone tell you if it’s worth it for you? You know the features, you know your views on what constitutes privacy.
Gotcha! I wasn’t sure if you’d been following the process in the thread and having trouble or just getting started.
The lane centering is part of adaptive cruise. The lane keeping that you have now behaves just as you describe.
In short, you’ll need to install the CCM in the front bumper...
Thanks, I’ll double check everything, particularly with the APIM.
Just to clarify I do have a speed sign recognition option under the driver assistance area and I can toggle the alert and specify a tolerance. I just get that “not available right now” when I try to select the Intelligent option...
Thanks! I did back up my original as-built, as well as each module before I made changes. What I didn’t do was actually note the changes I made, so I was hoping for a way to see those so that I could compare against your sheet. I was able to save each module I changed and compare them against my...
Awesome, thank you so much! I’ll try to reconcile this against what I did.
I stupidly made my changes as I went in FORScan—is there any way for FORScan (or FDRS) to generate an as-built file so that I can compare my baseline to the changes I made?
Yeah, new bumper harness and CCM installed, VIN entered into the CCM via FORScan, and I compared by (501a) as-built against a 502a from an Auto Trader ad, changed the things that made sense to me (I don't have things like the 360 camera, active parking aid, etc. that it has), and ran the CCM...
I’ve seen this issue too, but where did you enable the climate controls on the bottom of the touchscreen? Is that an option somewhere that I’ve missed or is it new with that update?
