As someone who as owned a 3.5 L standard and 3.5 pb (in a different order), no. Keep what you have. The powerboost sounds so cool! But the actual MPG I got was 18. It had so many problems and when I needed a quick acceleration, it had serious lag. Actually, I had two pbs and I traded both in...
I think that’s the most gorgeous color I’ve ever seen on an F150. I was thinking about wrapping mine in a similar color. I can’t believe that is the 23 stock color. Dang! Beautiful truck!
“Most people” refers to those on the forum complaining of the problem, lol. Not most powerboost owners. I’m a big part of those forums. Yes, most of them give up.
Yes, there are several forums regarding just this issue. Most people end up with their truck in the shop for months before finally giving up and selling them. It’s unfortunate.
Yes, sport mode certainly curtailed the problem but it still occurred when accelerating quickly from idle at times. And I got the PB to get better gas mileage. How I drive sport mode in my new 3.5l v6 ecoboost and manage 23 mpg. Go figure! :)
Or, if yours is like the two models I had (yes, I’ve had two PBs and you couldn’t pay me to get another one), they will stall when turning into oncoming traffic. I was almost in several accidents and it’s a really common PB problem. But reading your post made me happy that it doesn’t happen to...
With my two trucks, no error codes ever popped up. It was really frustrating because the dealership essentially told me nothing can be done if there is no error code. So I’m glad that you have a code so that they can’t say nothing is wrong. But geez, that’s a long wait. If you don’t mind telling...
Unbelievable. I am so sorry. Because if the help from this thread and people like you, I felt like it was headed downhill and traded mine in last week for a normal 3.5L v6 10 sp ecoboost. Believe it or not, it gets better gas mileage than the hybrid. They gave me what I owed as trade in, so it...
Darn, that is the exact point I’m at; trading it in for a loss. I’m so sorry that was your experience but you definitely helped me make my decision and I’m really thankful for your reply.
Hi, I am having the exact same issue and am currently paying for a rental car while my brand new truck sits getting “exploratory” service (essentially, they can’t find a thing nor recreate the problem. Is there any chance you could help me? I’ve been in several near-accident situations as a...
Has anyone found a fix yet? Mine is currently at the dealership after four near-accidents with my kids in the truck from this exact issue. Ford knows it’s an issue but can’t seem to find a solution. I’m ready to trade it in but would much rather have a fix.
