You'll need to get the power cable and a 12" APIM. I tried every conceivable option to power my 8" with the larger screen and always had the random issue with it turning black. Multiple people have reported the exact issue, the 12" APIM always fixes it.

I could never get mine working with my original APIM. I tried multiple power sources but the screen would always shut off after 30 seconds or so. I've read multiple threads where others had the same issue.

Be careful, I bricked a HVAC module trying to PMI it when I added heated seats and auto climate to my STX.

I wound up using the 12" APIM. I ended up using FDRS to do a PMI on the 12" APIM to get it updated for my truck. It worked for me but it's risky and may not work for you. Please do it at your own risk if you decide to go that route.

I bought a used one on ebay and swapped mine out. I think it was the first thing I did.

I had this issue when doing my swap as well. I wound up swapping my stock APIM for the one that came with my screen and have not had any issues. Using the stock APIM from my 23 STX with the screen gave me incorrect component DTCs in the APIM.

That's a bummer. The sign timing out and dropping off the IPC is annoying but I guess it's better than nothing. My previous two cars displayed the speed from the GPS 24/7.
