Oz tune is great. Will definitely keep it during the winter for 93 octane.
This is not a jab to Oz. At all.
But the 5 star e85 performance tune is holy shit fast. It’s fast enough I probably need to lower the truck.
All around I am happy. Cant imagine the procharge setup if the 5 star tune...
Figured it out. It was the air filter.
I had a paper filter installed because when I went to get a new k&n they were out (i rinse the oil out of mine and just replace with a new filter after a few weeks). Bought a new k&n filter, did a kam reset, and the tune is dead on.
Strong, but not the...
What in the coon dawg hell are we doing? My truck knocked like a Triton under load. Now it clunks to a stop. All of a sudden I give it the throttle and it sounds like an F1 car and bangs thru the gears. Oz tune. Where are we?
Anybody else have knocking issues after installing the Omega tune? The email I got said give it 7-10 days before reaching out and knock is normal. Motor sounds like a Triton under load.
Checked the oil out of curiosity since it does have a shorter life cycle on e85. Checked it at full temp. The oil was warm to the touch. Not scalding hot like usual. Wonder if thats why the manuel says run regular gas at each oil change.
Yep, 107 on the drive home AGAIN today here in central TX… More air is what I really meant by CAI.
A cool morning and a fresh paper filter makes for a different drive historically, haven’t had the opportunity for that yet since giving e85 a try.
Hell I guess I could rinse the oil out of a...
I know the CAI topic always gets beat to death, but does anybody who runs e85 on these newer 5.0s think it adds to performance without a tune?
Reason I ask, the same airbox has been universal for the last few years but the motor has obviously advanced. I put the whipple CAI on my last tuned...
I have no idea. I drive about 150 miles a day round trip. About 1/3 in hills, 1/3 in traffic, 1/3 on the hwy. Maybe that has something to do with it. Dunno.
I did inquire from the Ford mechanics if the whole “run one tank of regular at each oil change” still applies. They said no, on the older...
I get better mileage in Sport Mode than in regular mode. Eco gets same as Sport. I just fill up with e85. No idea what the actual percentage is. Driving it “sporty” I get 14 mpg. Keeping my foot out of it I average 21 on the highway provided I get it over 70 to get it in 10th gear.
