Luv it :) Well, my oil change and filter usage was planned around a 100k miles which was to tie out to my 100k mile extended warranty. But, then the 3.5 EB Platinum became available and the rest is history as they say...
All I know is that 3.5 EB turbos LOVE clean oil. I try to feed them clean oil every ~4000 miles. That recommendation came from a very good friend who was a Ford dealer mechanic for 38 years. I use the trip odometer for my "memory" of when the next change is needed. Just my $.02.
Not sure if this is allowed... If not then please delete. I bought 24 new OEM Motorcraft oil filters for a 2.7 F150 that I ordered. Ended up buying a new F150 3.5 EB on lot. Any need oil filters for their 2.7? $100 for all 24. I can provide pics. DM me.
I have never bought a warranty on any vehicle except my recent F150 Platinum. Have a good friend who retired after 38 years as a Ford dealer mechanic. He said buy the extended warranty. He said with shop rates pushing $200/hr and all the tech stuff it is a cheap investment that he would buy...
I had a similar situation but not with high mileage. I used 1qt of the other brand synthetic with every oil change of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. Truck runs fine :)
Works very well. Used in UT in April for 3 weeks. Had Bluetti plugged power source in bed of truck snd the Iceco into the Bluetti. Great having cold/frozen stuff to munch on after a hot long hike in UT National Parks. Saved a ton of money not eating out all the time as well. Would highly...
Actually the weatherstrip is not to be placed as you have shown on your install. It is to be the opposite as you have shown. See attached video at 30 second mark. I too have had issues with small plastic cpas (chintzy). Actually I was driving at ~70mph with crosswinds gusts of ~50 mph and wind...
on my 23 I don't remove anything other than the drain plug to drain oil. no need to take off the metal skid plate. have not had any issues. oil goes exactly where it is suppose to. no fuss, no mess.
Well, the 2.7 will get you better gas mileage if towing is not an issue. It too is a bullet engine. I would stay away from the 24, too many VA/VE ideas implemented to reduce cost. I went with 23 as I didn't want to be the first guinea pig to see if the changes worked in a production mode :)...
