I did find info to get a better estimate on curb weight in the eSource book that I can calculate based on my build, with the GVWR, that gets me a closer estimate on payload. The dealer payload+curb > GVWR so it can't be right. Another thing I have found based on my meticulous reading is that...

Thanks for everyone's ideas. It turns out that (likely) the dealer was using a third-party tool to get these numbers and that it was incorrect. Ugh.

In general yes, tow package is an option, but for whatever reason (Canada, PowerBoost, 4x4, 302a, 157.2wb, some combination...) the trailer tow package is included on this build. I don't know why, but luckily it is. I really wish I could figure out all the contradictions.
