Finally made time to install the heated wheel to my truck. I surprised myself by getting everything done without breaking/scratching/damaging any plastic and got it coded correctly the first!
2023 501a Lariat
Installed:
steering wheel
SCCM
HVAC panel
A few interesting notes:
-I did NOT need...
My April '23 build did not come with a heated wheel. Fingers crossed, it sounds like I have the wiring at least. I should be doing this upgrade next week. I bought a wheel, SCCM and HVAC unit.
I did pull my airbag off over the weekend. No unconnected plugs inside the wheel area, so the wheel can't be heated. I did confirm what I already assumed true, that the SCCM is "blank" for the heated wheel. Still nice to confirm it 100% especially considering how easy it is to pop the airbag out.
So I decided to help myself a bit more and found what I think are all the part numbers to work on my Lariat. These are current prices. F me for not buying at least the heated wheel back a few months ago when I started looking and when the price of the wheel was roughly $150 :-/

I've seen this mentioned earlier in the thread. When I put my order together, and now when going through a build and price on the Ford website, it says heated wheel is included. It doesn't specifically mention it under the mid package description, but if you scroll down to interior options list...
Hey guys. Trying to make heads from tails here. So much information and sometimes conflicting answers as the thread developed.
I have a May, 2023 build F150 Lariat 501a. It was supposed to come with the heated steering wheel per my build sheet until the chip shortage deleted it. My questions...
Congrats! Still waiting for mine to show up. Ford chat gave me the rail car, so yesterday I called and the system was last updated 4/18 showing in Ohio. Hopefully it's nearly to, or in Buffalo now.
Got two emails from Ford last night! My truck is built and already marked shipped. I know there's still plenty of time until it may actually ship and reach the dealer, but glad the emails keep coming and the tracker keeps updating!
2-27-23 order date

I think you guys are misinterpreting those reports... or maybe I am! LOL. My understanding for "clean up" scheduling is that they can take trucks into production for that last week, but that none of those orders can contain the items on that list. I believe that's because those particular items...
Follow a bed in procedure as your first step. Warm up the vehicle and brakes. Perform 3-4 60-20 mph braking events in rapid succession, never coming to a complete stop during the operation or for a few minutes after to allow the brakes to cool. Number of attempts needed to get the brakes hot...
Same here! I checked the tracker Friday and it still said scheduled week of 4/4. Checked again Tuesday and now it says in Production! Lariat 501a, supercrew, 6.5', 5.0 4x4 max tow, sport package.
Received an email today (3/16) that my truck is scheduled for the week of 4/3. Ordered on 2/27, confirmed by Ford 2/27.
