I have 7500lb 28' trailer. Got the HD version given tongue weight of 1100lb. Setting 1 has been used, have not felt need for the higher setting as yet. I'd estimate 20,000 miles of trailering.
Totally worth it.
In nearly 3 years mine has spent ~9 weeks in the shop for a variety of things, none of which are PB-specific.
The question is whether or not there is sufficient utility in the vehicle despite that.
For me there is, especially every time I hook up my trailer and can power the frig while driving...
Howdy,
I was reorganizing glove box items and had forgotten this was included in purchase.
Truck has integrated brake controller and the "instructions" are just 2 diagrams of the jumper and a 7-pin connector.
Is it for use with an alternate brake controller?
Thanks
Don't let those numbskulls use a simulator on it to call it operational. I used my own Kurt simulator and it called the connections good. Same for my local dealer, with some other brand. It was only when I compared measurements with truck off/on that I started getting answers that explained the...
This sounds familiar, except yours seems to be happening far more often than did mine, which only gave occasional alarms when towing.
Something is making the truck think a trailer has been connected, suggests there is a fault to ground, given it occurred following a wash. You may get luck with...
This is a great thread for getting to know the forum members better and find out more about how we ended up with our vehicles.
We're probably contributing to Ford's marketing demographics :)

I just replaced mine yesterday with an X2 H7 (due to low SOC and up to 20% loss overnight from Ford battery) and noted the same issue. I couldn't get the bolt to drop far enough to grab the threads. After quite a tussle in and out..., noted the keeper nut/washer on the underside of the bracket...
I have a fully functional set of non-tow mirrors available. They’re in great shape with a small dimple line on the passenger side due to smacking something at low speed.
I’ve installed tow mirrors instead.
yours for the cost of shipping.
I got tired of strap-ons (mirrors, that is) while towing so I sprang for the full monty from Fairway Ford in OH. They were $500 less than my dealer quoted me for the same item.
Confirmed via VIN that they were compatible with my 2022 Platinum PB.

My wife and I had been driving for several hours coming into Bozeman via Big Sky.

Get back in, close the doors and seconds later a...
I had this DTC and service light during a trailer trip in Death Valley last year. PCM SW update appears to have corrected it. I'm currently on a 4K mile trip and the truck is pulling flawlessly. It seems also to have corrected the high transmission temps observed, noted in my prior posts if...
My experience is detailed here.
Fault was trailer 7-pin connector on the truck.
DO NOT accept a simulator test that tells you it's OK. Low 12V (~8V) and high-resistance ground paths with system powered off told me there was a connector fault. Too bad the dealer tried to convince me it was fine...
I used to commute by bicycle but the roadways are so unsafe I gave it up, having been clipped twice and people accelerating crazily to get ahead only to turn into the next driveway on many occasions. People drive like f'ing wack jobs. Constant me-first attitudes, distracted driving and the sense...
