  1. Stuck between 1/2 and 3/4

For a semi-dedicated tow rig, especially one that’s a car hauler, get a 250. It’s far safer to have a truck running at 50-60% capacity than running at 80-100% capacity. Everything on the 250 is built heavier to take the added stress and handle heavier loads. The downside is that being overbuilt...
  2. F150 2021 + Light Bulbs

yes there is a reason, read the links I posted. drop in LED’s do not accurately simulate the size and shape of halogen bulb filaments. This leads to poor focus and poor performance for LED’s in halogen housings. The best performing LED like the Morimoto 2 strokes at $200 barely beat stock long...
  3. FordPass - Scriptable Widget V2022.XX (iOS, iPad, MacOS)

What’s the chances of getting this to work for other Fords? My wife has an edge and we use the FordPass app daily for both my truck and her car.
  4. Rough Country seat covers and weather tech AVM mats

Yes all seats work as they should.
  5. Easy halogen high beam upgrade: 9011 bulbs

Just a friendly reminder that a 40% improvement in high beam output is a bulb swap away. The stock high beam bulbs are sylvania 9005LL (aka long life aka low performance). Fortunately an upgrade is simple, easy, and cheap: buy a set of 9011 bulbs (I chose the Phillips standard $30 each on...
  6. USA made shorty antenna company.

Much much better than the stock CB whip! Reception is generally pretty good where I live but I haven’t noticed a different yet either.
  7. Rough Country seat covers and weather tech AVM mats

Ive got a 2021 F150 XL STX with the 40/20/40 bench and vinyl floor. But, I’ve got two kids and a dog, so I still want to cover my seats and collect the mess. The RC seat covers are listed as fitting the buckets only but they fit the outside buckets perfectly. Pass on, drivers not installed...
  8. USA made shorty antenna company.

Ordered! (y) One of my main gripes with this truck is the huge whip antenna.
  9. How-To: fix your Headlight and fog light aim!

I picked up my 2021 STX Tuesday night and like many of you I noticed immediately that the forward lighting isn’t great. IIHS rated the halogen headlights as Poor due to a lack of distance projection both down the road and to the sides. Most people immediately think “These lights suck! Time to...
  10. Fog lights aimed like crap

Please, whatever you do to your trucks, aim your fog lights. I did this on my lunch break, only took about 30 minutes. As delivered,vs drivers side adjusted. The fogs on my STX are 24” off the ground at center. At 15 feet the pattern was on the floor. Generally fogs should be aimed to be...
  11. Fog lights aimed like crap

So some test photos on my drive home, taken from my road. Fogs only: lows only: fogs and lows: My take is both the headlights and the fog lights are aimed far too low from the factory, similar to my Tacoma. I’m hoping to do some aiming and measuring at lunch today. If my experience with the...
  12. Fog lights aimed like crap

Adding to the low fog pile, my halogen fogs barely shine past the bumper. Plan on making the adjustment in a couple days using the shop bag at work.
  13. CARBONIZED GRAY F-150 (2021+) Club

It’s here it’s here! Finished the paperwork today, picking it up on Tuesday when I finish the sale of my Tacoma and give the dealer my down payment.
  14. "Old to New"- What did you drive before purchasing

I’ve been in Fairbanks Alaska for 10 years and every vehicle I’ve owned had the coolant changed and the heaters added to deal with the winters. I plug in at -10F generally just to make starting easier and warming up faster. I did forget to plug in my 2013 mustang when it was -62F but it still...
  15. "Old to New"- What did you drive before purchasing

0w-30, change the coolant/water mix to 60/40. Add block (if not factory equipment) oil pan, and sometimes trans pan heater and a heated battery blanket that all run to a plug-in on the front of the truck.
