It sounds like you were right about there. The attachment to that post should show you everything you'd need to know.

Absolutely it works great. Happened to find the right SCCM on ebay, replaced the HVAC and updated with the forscan settings in this thread. I did have to get a pre-release version of forscan in order to connect- I don't know if that situation has changed and current versions support MY23 now?
I saw this thread and happened to be installing the missing ambient lighting in my 23 today. I took the media bin out to cut a hole for a light so took a couple pictures.

The tabs on mine were broken off from the factory, so it's hard for me to give the correct technique. I assume they had a gorilla on the line smashing the cover on.
The 23 isn't officially supported yet. I got a "Unable to identify the vehicle. Please contact developers" error. However, I emailed the dev with my forscan logs and I was sent back a test version that works just fine.
I spent some time trying to debug the same message. It turned out I just needed to enable "Wireless Android Auto" in the Android Auto settings on my phone.
