I hear you. So far my hole / RTV is holding up well (no signs of dust, dirt, or water marks.) Since I drilled from the inside of the box at a 45° angle downward to the outside, I'm fairly confident gravity will help prevent infiltration should the silicone ever fail, but I still periodically...
That would be ideal, but I already have this harness installed, with the tap for power in the engine bay, so I did my best with that I had at my disposal.
I appreciate your input, leading to this hopeful solution.
Today I fed the power wire that was providing constant power to the ballasts (as per the harness instructions via an unused stud on the distribution box,) through a small hole that I drilled near the corner of the fuse box (using a rubber grommet / then extra sealed with silicone,) into the fuse...
They're upgraded from the reflector LEDs that came with my 302a. Purchased from Scott Treichel (CSS Lighting Solutions.)
That's what I've been doing. I actually upgraded the fuse that connects to the fuse box stud, to an inline circuit breaker, so I just trip the breaker, reset it, and then...
I had the intermittent swivel motors / leveling actuator motors DTCs yesterday when I left for work. I haven't had the error all summer (despite plenty of night driving in the dark.) I'm hoping for an answer one day, too. I'm using the OEM "Euro" projectors.

If I had to guess, since the harness for the upgrade is being run through the engine bay, right past the junction block, maybe that was chosen as the power source out of convenience / an abundance of caution?
That is the power wire for the ballasts. A ground is never fused. It goes to one of the studs in the under hood fuse box. My fuse box had an unused terminal, so I connected to that.

Good luck. Report back. Read above for the code to change in the IPC to make the Automatic Highbeam Telltale work properly (slightly different on the 8" IPC than the code for the 12" IPCs that documented in the spreadsheet.)
Unfortunately, I don't have the part numbers handy (I have the sensors tucked behind my dash in a static position.) Ryan Broderick made me a custom harness for testing and sourced the sensors for me.

Nope. It works exactly as expected. White =[A) symbol on one of the three toggles [instead of: blue higbeam, blank, blank (automatic)], and when in the automatic position, the GFHB works just as expected. Appreciate the help!
I changed it earlier and drove for about an hour tonight. I can confirm that it works as expected and I now have the icon on the IPC. Thanks for your contribution!
