Not sure if you already checked but is there anything rouge that could be connected to the passenger footwell fuse box? Look for fuse taps or wires outside of a loom maybe?
From what I have seen on here, this problem is limited to the quad LED lights found on Lariat-mid and lower trims. I have yet to see a Lariat High and up light exhibit the same behavior.
Experience this often as well. Can usually disconnect carplay from the audio settings onscreen and audio will come back but sometimes have to resort to resetting the APIM and/or my iPhone.
VLINKER might work.... But, if you have issues you would be on your own with troubleshooting. OBDLinkEX has been fully vetted by members of this forum, so I would recommend returning the VLINKER.
This is my hope as well. My APIM crashes about once a week at startup and Ford has given me the run-around that they cant "reproduce" the issue when I brought it in for the problem. Maybe this will be the kick in the pants they need to finally fix my APIM, whether through software or an APIM...
Glad to see they are finally addressing their buggy APIM's. I have had this happen to me a few times, but at least once a week the APIM crashes at startup at the Ford logo splashscreen and I have to manually reset it with the steering wheel buttons. Hopefully, my VIN falls within the range and...
I still dont understand why Ford felt the need to try and recreate the wheel in regards to the max tow axles vs traditional threaded axles being held on by a nut. Glad they finally have a permanent fix and hopefully parts will be readily available.
I believe this has been resolved in past software updates, but if your 2021 is "stuck" and is not getting OTA's, could be why you're still having this issue.
I read somewhere that with a recent update, that ADAS such as lane centering will not work if your seatbelt isn't on. Not sure if the forscan change will "trick" the ADAS to work or not.
