Here's an example of a permanent trickle charger setup. Might go this route instead of underneath the bumper (way underneath) as I might have to drive through flooding due to living in South Florida.
Could've sworn H8 was not meant for PBs. I think others have said it wouldn't fit. Interesting. It's not that uncommon to see vehicles not in constant use be put on battery maintainers. I have an onboard tender on mine that's quick and easy to plug in. Which tender do you have? I have a kit that...
I just googled it and it has several potential results. I suggest disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and putting it back on to see if it fixes it. If it doesn't, head to the dealer because it could be a door switch, wiring harness, latch mechanism, or BCM issue; none of which you should be...
? I forgot about the drivetrain warranty...I could go bother my service advisor manager and see what he says. Worst he could say is no because of my mods. I appreciate the reminder.
My 21 is about to turn 35k and it smokes from a stop. It's oil and it's burning through a lot of it. I'm guess it's the valve stem seals. Out of warranty as of last October. Thankfully my friends and I can do the work, I'm just hoping it isn't something else more serious than that. Bought it...
I went with Costco, but they recently switched the replacement to be like AutoZone and the like. So I push people to Walmart since apparently it's better.
Well, if you're uncomfortable with the idea of trimming the tape (not mocking you), buy the h8, try to see if it'll fit with the cables, if not bring right back the same day and swap for an h7. Walmart allows you to return new, unused car batteries & they apparently have the best warranty in the...
I live in a very hot climate in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My h6 with the battery blanket died in less than 2 years. My Costco replacement without the battery blanket is still operational & it's been...a year and a half so far? I'm aware it's bigger now, but I guess we'll see. None of my other...
What year is yours? I've never had to adjust any cables.
Blanket was tossed. I didn't even bother trying to make it fit in this ft Lauderdale heat lol.
There's no part number. I wasn't clear about this here but the H6 I had before was a motorcraft battery that comes OEM for our trucks. It's usually garbage. Went to Costco (go to Walmart instead) and tell them you want to buy an AGM H8 battery. It'll fit.
Battery blanket; some say stretching...
I'm in South FL, but my f150 package was built solely for the Canadian market, "XTR". Nothing special, just an XLT-low with a chrome package & platinum (or limited) steps. However, my VIN begins with "1" so it's US built. The VIN will likely be the indicator of what's built here vs other countries.
