It's not really a tick. It's like a rattle or clatter. The sound reminds me of rocker arms that needed to be adjusted in solid cam engine back years ago

So checking with a stethoscope seems like the engine noise is in the top center part of the engine but also when I put it on the fuel high pressure fuel pump which looks like it's on the passenger side it's the loudest so I wonder if a fuel pump could be noisier when it's cold and when it's warm...

Thanks for the info. So i tried to do a recording this am but it never sounds the same as hearing it. I noticed if I hold the rpms at about 1800 to around 2500 it has the rattling as I play with the throttle. Bring up rpms to 3 or above I don't hear that noise. Puzzles me.
