IDK about OP but I just ran a ground to the chassis. there is no need for a dedicate ground to the battery for an amplifier just make sure to find a ground location with a good connection to bare metal.

Already started that, luckly I found the two ends of the wire. I'm going to attempt to solder it back together and fingers crossed this is the solution. I'll keep updating as I go.
