I’m gonna try and see what the insurance wants to do first before i start diving into that. I have very basic mechanical experience and certainly do not trust myself to make the repairs the truck needs
I’ve sort of “trained” myself to not panic at the sight of deer on the road while driving for the exact reasons you stated. I feel like sometimes it’s better to just hit the thing then slam on the brakes or swerve into oncoming traffic. My wife and I are very lucky it happened the way it did...
I appreciate everyone’s insight to this so far! I’ll do my best to post updates about all this whenever something happens. For now I’m driving my grandparents mint 2000 single cab Silverado with only 65,000 miles so things aren’t too bad all in all.
Yeah unfortunately mine is/was definitely leaking. Not like pouring out fluids leaking but it’s definitely going to need a replacement. Good luck with your repair!
that’s my thoughts exactly and im currently waiting to get in touch with an adjuster. I’m anticipating on this being a 2-3 week ordeal. I know for a fact I don’t have any rental car insurance but I’ll still look into it
Yeah I’ll definitely make sure I don’t risk damaging anything further. Still waiting on a call back to work out all the fine details. You’re right about the Freon I didn’t even think about that!
This is my first ever claim I’ve ever had on with any car insurance company I’ve dealt with so I’m hoping it’s not gonna be anything crazy. I’m located in Georgia and with it being an animal collision and not a vehicle to vehicle I’m hoping it’ll either go up very little or not at all but we’ll...
Yeah it’s definitely gonna be pricey to fix. I’m really hoping all I have to do is pay my deductible. There were actually some pretty decent scratches on the inside of both parts of the headlights closest to the grill, nothing that makes them unsafe or non functioning. The truck is a 3.5 eco.
I’m hoping to take it to a ford collision center close to me. I was able to drive it home (happened 5 minutes after leaving my house) and it drove fine with no issues. I’m hoping by the time I get everything squared away with insurance I’ll be able to drive it wherever for repairs
